Chicago Peace Rose

This is one of the roses that I grow in my backyard garden – it’s called Chicago Peace. It’s a lovely hybrid tea rose with very large flowers and a mild scent. Quite spectacular growing right beside my patio!

Roses the color of a beautiful sunrise

Morden Sunrise Rose

These lovely roses are called Morden Sunrise. This is an appropriate name for this hardy Canadian Explorer series rose as the colors of the petals with their light yellows to soft peach and orange colors do look quite a bit like a sunrise on a beautiful day.

This rose is growing better than ever this year. It’s put out a lot of new shoots and it’s taller than it’s ever been in the five years that I’ve been growing it. Not that it’s that tall of a rose, but I’d say it’s tallest branches are about three feet long now where it usually only reaches about two to two and a half feet in height.

This rose almost always has a few blooms on the go, but this year it’s producing more flowers than it normally does as well. I guess it liked all the snow cover it got last winter! We had a ton of snow and this rose was well covered during the coldest part of winter.

The only problem that I’m having with this rose this year is Japanese Beetles.  I have nine or ten roses in my front flower beds but this is the only rose being pestered by those awful beetles. They love eating flower buds and blooming flowers.  I hate them!

A lovely white rose

This rose is called Iceberg. It’s a Floribunda rose and it produces clusters of lovely white roses almost continuously throughout the growing season. Not only does it produce and abundance of pretty white flowers but these flowers also have a light pleasant rose scent.

I grow this rose at the front of my house near the front steps and when it’s in full bloom as it is now the scent wafts up at you as you enter the front porch. Lovely. I also grow a climbing version of this rose in my backyard – right near our patio where we can enjoy it’s lovely flowers and light delicate scent.

Tiffany Rose

Hmmm wouldn’t “Tiffany Rose” make a lovely name for a baby girl? In this case it’s not a baby name, but rather the name of a lovely Hybrid Tea Rose.

My Tiffany Rose is doing fantastic this year. It’s giving me more blooms than ever before and look how lovely they are! I’m stoked!
