Yes, this is a Black Hollyhock.
Isn’t it’s dark glossy petals beautiful?
I grow this dark horse of a hollyhock between my lovely Compte de Chambord antique roses, Japanese Maple and the raspberries so it’s surrounded by shades of red and pink. It looks quite lovely among it’s companions.
A few photos back I posted a photo of a perfect Graham Thomas rose bud. Well this is the flower that, that bud would eventually turn into as this is a fully blooming Graham Thomas English rose.
Lovely multi shades of yellow from pale to bright. It’s a gorgeous rose and quite hardy.
