Clematis Hybrid Seiboldiana flower

You know summer is here when the clematis and roses begin to bloom and oh what lovely blooms they are!

The photo above is of one of my favorite Clematis flowers. It’s a hybrid Seiboldiana Clematis and it produces large blue flowers several times each year. Absolutely gorgeous, isn’t it?

She looks concerned

This is Midnight, my one year old Labrador Retriever puppy. Isn’t she a cutie?

We were outside in the backyard one day during the summer and my husband decided to pick up Midnight and put her on one of our high patio chairs. I don’t think she liked being up there all that much, she looks concerned doesn’t she?

Butterfly Weed

I love Butterfly Weed. It produces lovely long lasting orange blooms each summer that attract Monarch butterflies as well as other species of butterflies, moths and as you can see even honey bees or wasps! I believe even hummingbirds enjoy Butterfly Weed Flowers.

Valencia – a beautiful peach colored rose

This is the Valencia Hybrid Tea rose. It’s a large rose, perhaps 4 inches in diameter and it’s lovely.

I don’t find that this rose has much scent, but what it lacks in fragrance it more than makes up for in beauty. I just wish this rose wasn’t so stingy with it’s blooms. I get new flowers every three or four weeks throughout the summer but only one to three at a time. I’d love to see this rose bush just full of these lovely flowers.
