Great gift ideas at Designer Gifts

May 27, 2007 by Chris

Designergifts.com is a new online store that is owned by onlinestores.com. It think they’re trying to get a feel as to how people respond to the items that they are selling as well as the look and feel of the site.

Personally I’m very happy with the way the site has been designed. The menu system is easy to navigate, there’s a good selection of categories and sub categories in the menu that will take you to the sections that you’re interested in with ease.

Product wise I’m also pleased with the selection. I’ve visited some so called “gift stores” before that only have maybe 20 items to choose from. Designer Gifts is nothing like the other stores that I’ve visited and quickly left. No, it’s got a huge selection of items. They have a Cheap gifts section but there’s nothing cheap about the gifts displayed there. The items appear to be of high quality and I’m fairly sure that if I were to go into a department store and find a similar item it would be more than twice the price.

Along with quality gift items you’ll also find an area that sells deluxe greeting cards. There are cards for all occasions in that area and the cards are very nice.

giftbasketman.gif

Being a guy, I spent more time looking at the Gift ideas for men portion of the site. There’s some great gift ideas to be found in that section. You can buy personalized gifts like army knives that could be engraved, flasks, Bath and body gift ideas for men, and even gift baskets for men. I actually really like the look of the gift basket that I’ve shown above and wouldn’t mind one bit if someone wanted to get that for me as a gift. Hey, my birthdays coming up a little more than a month you know.

They do have some high tech gift items like the MP4 players and Digital picture frames, but I suppose they could stand to get a few more gadgety types of items in their lineup. In fact, I really do think that that would be my only suggestion.

The prices seem very reasonable, and as I said earlier the items look to be well made and of high quality so I’d be happy to either give or receive a gift from Designer Gifts. How about you? Why don’t you go visit the store and see what you think.

United States Flag Store

May 27, 2007 by Chris

united-states-flag-store.jpg

My wife and I are proud Canadians and we display our Canadian flag at the front of our house.

It’s kind of interesting that Canadians aren’t quite as interested in displaying their flag as Americans seem to be. Having said that, those of you who are interested in purchasing American Flags should visit the United States Flag Store. Once you visit the flag store you’ll probably be astounded by their wide selection of flags. They don’t just sell US Flags, no, they also sell World flags – as in flags from many countries from across the world.

You purchase just about anything to do with flags at the United States Flag Store, from Outdoor Flagpoles – which includes both residential and corporate flagpoles, as well as pins, patches and badges, car flags, state flags, flag related accessories, and patriotic related items from patriotic decorations to patriotic wear. There’s even a patriotic gift idea section.

I found that the site was very easy to navigate. Just visit the category, listed on the left side of the page, that you’d like to visit and then drill down through the sub categories until you find the flag related item that suits your needs. Most items have thumbnail photos so it’s easy to see what the product really is, plus you’ll find a good description of the item when you click on it’s thumbnail. A few items that I clicked on even brought me to a page that displayed a large image of the item so I was able to take a really good look at the product. united-states-flaghat.gif

I honestly can’t think of any other items that they might add to the site other than perhaps some children related types of flags or patriotic items. There must be some kind of patriotic toys out there, shouldn’t there be?

The prices seem to be quite reasonable and the flags appear to be well made and of high quality from what I can tell by reading descriptions and looking at the images on the site.

If you are looking to purchase a flag for your home, or a flag related item make this site your first stop and I’ll be it will also be your last stop too.

The ultimate ROCKMAN by Tom Scholz

May 11, 2007 by Chris

The ROCKMAN by Tom Scholz is the result of the business venture that helped many budding rock stars obtain that BIG FAT Boston sound that everyone was after in the 1980’s.

Unfortunately or fortunately for myself during those years I did not get my hands on any of these ultimate tools of the trade. I was a young player who tried to create the sound that I wanted by going as direct as I could.

I know that is contrary to most of my posts but I wanted to, in the back of my mind, be as pure and honest with my sound as I could. I was trying to slay many dragons on many fields at once. My guitar mentor at the time, always was suspicious about all those tricks that some players used to fool the listeners. This was someone who I had trusted completely and I never thought twice about questioning his judgment. I hope to have him back in my guitar life if he will let me.

Here is an example of the power of the Rockman Sustainor. I’d love to have this one for sure, what do you think?

So, go through this site and tell me if you have had any dealings with any of these products. Please give us the pro’s and con’s of all aspects of them and don’t leave anything out, even if you think that they are self explanatory.

Keep on Jammin’

HitFlip UK – Swap media products with others

April 18, 2007 by Chris

I just visited a great site called Hitflip Uk where residents of the UK can swap media related products with other members of the HitFlip site.

Want to exchange games, music CDs, DVDs, books and audiobooks that you don’t use anymore for similar items that you can use? Just sign up for a Hitflip account and start listing the items you’d like to swap.

Of course if I set up an account on HitFlip I’d be busy looking for great music cds and music related DVDs. We have a great collection already, but hey, we could always use more.

Check out the HitFlip UK Blog to learn a bit more about this company that recently changed it’s name from Swopex. There’s also a great demo of how the site works and plenty of FAQ’s to get you started and answer any questions you might have on the main site.

Get wholesale replica designer sunglasses for as little as ten bucks per dozen

April 11, 2007 by Chris

CTSWholesalers has recently launched a website where you can purchase Wholesale Sunglasses. Retailers of sunglasses might be interested in having a look at the many designs and styles available for purchase at CTSWholesalers.

Perhaps you’re an individual who’s looking to sell products, perhaps at flea markets, festivals or fairs? Or perhaps you already have an established business but you’re looking for give away promotional items, or additional items to sell in your retail or chain store or kiosk? Since pretty much everyone needs sunglasses, and often wants to look stylish purchasing wholesale designer replica sunglasses might be the right kind of item for you to look into.

CTSWholesalers offers a wide assortment of styles of replica designer sunglasses. You can find everything from cattier, sportswear and surfwear sunglass styles in metal and plastic design.

The look alike sunglasses have been inspired by famous designer brands but do not carry fake names that are similar to the original designer brand name. These are perfectly legal sunglasses similar to designer brands because they have been inspired by their popular styles.

Along with replica designer sunglasses you can also purchase wholesale sunglass accessories, sunglass clip-ons, as well as sunglass displays and repair kits. Whole sale sunglasses are prices from $10 and up per dozen pair. That sounds like a very good price to me.

The following is a press release by CTSWholesalers:

CTSWholesalers Launch Website for Wholesale Sunglass Buyers
CTS Wholesale Sunglasses today launched a web site dedicated to helping sunglass retailers who sell designer replica sunglasses.

CTS Wholesale Sunglasses today announced the launch of their new site at online sunglass store for selling at high traffic areas.

The retail sunglass industry has high operating margins and the dealers can make a nice profit buying the sunglasses in wholesale and then selling these at retail counters or stalls in malls and fairs. “Sunglasses that typically cost $15 a dozen can be easily sold for about $8 per pair, earning a very high profit per sale,” reported Kirk Bachelder while announcing the site.

Our sunglasses do not carry any brand names and are 100% safe for the dealers to sell
The site contains information about a large variety of replica sunglass designs that are inspired by leading brands. “We do not sell fake sunglasses and do not recommend that the retailers sell them”, cautioned Kirk. “Our sunglasses do not carry any brand names and are 100% safe for the dealers to sell,” he added.

The site will also carry special offers like a starter pack with an assorted collection of 36 pairs of latest and popular designs and a rack to hold 24 pairs, at a low $99. A newbie retailer can test the waters and explore the market with this low investment package before jumping in with larger stocks.

The helpful customer service and blazing fast shipping ensures that the dealers get their shipments before the time most of the other wholesalers have even dispatched the goods.

The retail sunglass industry is very popular with entrepreneurs because of the high margins. People prefer to buy cheap ‘compare to’ or replica sunglasses that look like the eyewear from the leading brands but cost much lesser. They do not feel the pinch if these sunglasses are lost or broken. They can also try different looks easily to match the season and the mood.

About CTS Wholesalers:
CTS Wholesalers offers tips and guidance to the sunglass retailers about the best ways to maximize the profits in marketing their wares at the malls, stores, exhibitions and flea markets. Visit the site at www.CTSwholesalers.com.

How to figure out what strings you really need

March 29, 2007 by Chris

If you want your guitar to sound it’s best when you play it, you have to determine what type of strings you need to compliment your style of playing. Take your guitar in to have the intonation on your axe set by the best guitar technician possible in your area.

Intonation on a guitar is what we call the action on your guitar. This allows you to play/hit your strings effortlessly. Trust me, it’s worth the extra few bucks and time to get this done correctly. The better the intonation, the better the chance of your strings staying in tune longer. The less you have to bend the string, the less they lose their tension. That should speak volumes in itself.

I am forever fine tuning my guitars. People tell me that I make it look like an art form – or maybe they mean I’m being anal retentive!

When you go into a music store tell them what style of music you are playing, and how you want the guitar to react. I recommend kissing this person’s butt by going to see them on a Tuesday in the A.M. if possible.

Going there on weekends is like going to the lions den. There are always way too many kids and rookies in the store to drive them crazy. Monday is the day they try to remember what they were told to do and start off where they last ended. It can be the craziest part of their work week. Besides, who really does their best work on a Monday? Makes sense, huh?

Bringing a coffee can go a long way. Yes, I’m a kiss up artist too.

After you’re done kissing up, ask the techie what type of set-up they are putting on your guitar. This will help you in determining or narrowing down what type of string you should use. You can even ask him or her what type of strings they would recommend for your guitar and playing style.

Remember, a techie is the person who works on guitars. They are players themselves in their own right, but having said that, they also might not the ones to help make your final decision about your strings. NO disrespect intended to all you masters of guitar maintenance! The techie helping you might be biased towards certain types of equipment and or a certain type of sound. The more opinions the better, so ask around for further input. Remember, knowledge is power.

Save on international calls

March 28, 2007 by Chris

If you tend to make long distance calls from home or even from your mobile phone you might be interested in getting some cheap prepaid calling cards online from a company called Pingo.

Pingo has particularly good rates for cell phone users. Looking at the rates it’s actually much cheaper to use a Pingo calling card than to simply dial a long distance call using your cell phone provider. You can save up to 90% on your long distance mobile calls.

We don’t even like to get long distance calls on our cell phone because of the roaming charges. Our cell phone provider seems to charge us for everything and we can’t do much about it since we still have a contract with them. Now that I know how much cheaper it is to use a Pingo calling card for my cell phone long distance calls I think I’ll give it a try. Really, the rates are very good. See the rates in the links I’ve just listed to see what I mean.

Another bonus, when you sign up with Pingo you’ll get up to four hours worth of free international calls.

We don’t make a lot of long distance calls. I’d say that most of our long distance calls these days are to the United States. United States calling card rates are quite low. 1.8 cents per minute seems to be the going rate, and that’s quite a contrast to the 20 cents per minute that we pay when we call using our home telephone line through our telephone company.

Check it out for yourself. I’m sure you’ll save some money.

TestFreaks reviews Television brands and models

March 19, 2007 by Chris

A couple of years ago, the wife and I, decided to get a new TV. Well it wasn’t so much as decided to get a new TV, our Sony was dying! We’d turn it on and it would take 15 to 30 minutes to warm up and show us what was on the television screen. We thought about getting it fixed, but getting it fixed would cost about the same amount as buying a brand new regular TV of the same size. That’s when we decided to not only get a new TV, but to get one that was HDTV ready.

I only wish that I’d discovered the Testfreaks.com website before we went hunting for a new television. The TestFreaks site has LCD and Plasma TV articles. Reading the articles of the various television brands and models would have made picking out a new TV so much easier since it has so many TV ratings.

Well, I’ve found the site now, and I’m bookmarking it. When we get around to renovating our basement the DLP TV that we did end up purchasing may get moved to the basement, or we might end up getting another new TV for either the living room or renovated basement. The TestFreaks site will come in handy the next time I’m doing research on the different types of televisions and brands.

If you’re shopping for a new television set be sure to look at the articles on TestFreaks before you make your final decision.

Coupon deals on Music CDs and DVDs

March 12, 2007 by Chris

I guess I’m in a surfing the net, browsing around kind of mood today. Like most people I enjoy getting a deal on things. That’s why I’ve started to browse through the more than 1000 online stores that are listed at CouponChief. All the stores listed are well known stores, many of which have physical locations as well as online presences.

I decided to visit CouponChief today to see if they had any coupons or coupon codes for music stores. I’ve been looking to expand our music CD and DVD collection and I might as well save some money by using a coupon to get a percentage of the price right?

I discovered that they have a Music and DVD section where they list all the deals they have for their online music stores. I found a great deal using Tower Record coupon codes to get free shipping on orders of $20 or more.

I also discovered that they have listings for deals on MP3 players, iPod accessories, DVD players and other music and entertainment related items at Best Buy, Circuit City, and Sony. See, I told you they have listings for well known stores.

Sale on Sunglasses and eyewear at OpticsPlanet

March 12, 2007 by Chris

You know how there’s retail stores that you go to just because you like the products they sell. Perhaps just browsing the aisles looking at neat things? Well I found an online store that’s just like that too. It’s called Opticsplanet and they carry the most interesting things.

Opticsplanet.net carries everything from Sun glasses to microscopes, telescopes, binoculars and flashlights and whole lot of other products in between.

When I was visiting the site today I noticed that they had a huge selection of sunglasses. Actually it’s not just sunglasses, but a whole range of eyewear from prescription eyewear, to ski and motorcycle goggles.

I used to have a real problem. I always seemed to lose my sunglasses. I’m not so bad these days, but I could use an extra pair, since I still somehow misplace mine from time to time. An extra pair or two would solve that problem wouldn’t it?

They have a huge selection of brand name and top brand eyewear. Their selection includes eyewear from Bolle, Body Specs, Bobster, Wiley X, ESS, Revision Eyewear and many more manufacturers. Personally, I really like the design of Serengeti sunglasses. The prices are really good too. The lowest that I’ve found actually. I just discovered that pretty much all of the eyewear that Opticsplanet sells is on sale right now, so that makes the prices even better.

What great timing on my part to have browsed the site when they are having a sale eh? If you need sunglasses, goggles or any kind of eyewear from designer to safety or shooting glasses now is the time to visit OpticsPlanet.

They also offer free UPS delivery on all orders over $29.95, and they guarantee the lowest prices. That’s why I love OpticsPlanet. Great stuff, great prices, and free shipping if your purchase is just $29.95? You can’t lose. Check it out for yourself.
