From out of the blue comes a writing offer

by Tricia

I’m feeling out of sorts and kind of confused today. I’ve been trying my hardest to catch up on built up work, and to secure more internet/blog related work all day while fending off email!

I just received acceptance into BlogCritics but for the life of me, I don’t remember ever applying to be a writer there. It’s definitely an honor to be accepted, but the email kind of hit me from behind!

Actually I just got word back from Eric at Blogcritics and he was responding to a request that was actually written by my husband. You see, since I have more blogs than my husband I put him on promo duty a little while ago and he’s been working to get our sites listed in the various blog and RSS feed directories for the past month or so. I find lists of directories and put him on the job.

Well, it turns out BlogCritics was on one of the lists that I found and assigned to him and he wrote to the owner of the site hoping to get our blogs listed. He didn’t realize that he was applying for ME to become a writer/contributer there!

Well … they sound interested in having me do some writing over there so I might as well give it a try!

Kind of strange how that came about isn’t it? Well at least I know I didn’t apply and forget about it. It was my husband!

What kind of RSS feed directories are you using? I’d be interested in jumping in on some of those as well if you don’t mind pointing me in the right direction. Just a Google keyword search would be enough…lol

Here’s some more unsolicited work if you are interested. We are starting an auction site, where people looking for writers post projects and writers bid on to get the work. We should be up and running July 4 when we launch Beta. I don’t want to advertise my site on your blog, but if your interested in being paid to write I can let you know through this link where to see the projects up for bid.

Apparently you’re a better writer than you thought! Congrats on your new side gig. Writing like that is great exposure for your blogs and will help raise your readership as well. Plus, the more sites you blog on, the better chance you will have at other opportunities as they come up. You never know.

I hate that feeling that you are going crazy when you really aren’t. I’m glad you figured it out.

Good luck with the new gig!

Pro-writing is everyone’s dream. Pro-writing = not wearing pants to work. GL
