Toyota has just announced a new single person car that can transport drivers in two seating positions – upright at slow speeds, reclined at high speeds. This new vehicle, the i-unit can be used outdoors and indoors.
It’s a hybrid electric gas vehicle that was created because it seems that many drivers do drive alone so why not save fuel and energy and use a single person vehicle?
Along those same lines, Toyota has developed the i-swing –
The new i-Swing is an electric vehicle that resembles an arm chair on three wheels. A program built into the car learns the drivers preferences through a forum of artificial intelligence.
The new i-swing can be used on sidewalks and on the road. It can also travel on two or three wheels.
At this point the i-Swing is a concept car and there are no plans for commercial sale of this vehicle. Whereas the i-unit is expected to be on the market at some point, but no date for release has been set at this time.

It’s kind of cute, though I”m not sure how this is better than an old fashioned scooter.

saw that on TV, but it’s kind of cool to see it here too.

Tricia – Saw this video on the web a couple of days ago. Why can’t we come up with this kinda stuff? Any way, thanks for the revisit. By the way, don’t you need a few more sites? Way to go, will revisit Breath of Life with my wife when she gets home. (She’ll probably loose her mind!) Ciao.

Wow, definitely looks cool but it looks about as safe as a motorcycle to drive on roadways (which is to say not safe at all!). And if you’re driving on the sidewalk it’s like you’re better off walking anyway to burn the calories 😉
