Work at Home Moms, how to blog

by Tricia

Wahm Blogs

Blogs are here to stay, and many Wahms are taking advantage of the trend. Making money with blogs is a popular choice for many work at home moms. Setting up blogs is simple and updating is relatively easy. When you compare blogs to other types of websites this is especially true. Within just a few minutes, you can set up a professional looking blog for free and start your Wahm blogging business.

A blog is an easy to update website that looks sort of like a journal. Make an entry at least once a week, the newest entries appearing at the top. Normally entries are short articles of 200 to 500 words. Readers use a blog reading program to visit the blog or read new entries. Readers can also comment on entries and provide links between their own blogs and your blog.

With blogs, the opportunities are wide open. Choosing a blog topic is as easy as looking at your own life for inspiration. There are blogs about every topic, from gardening to make-up to celebrity news. Do some research on the Internet to investigate if people are interested in the blog topic you have in mind, before you actually start it. If you have a dedicated group of people who are interested in your topic, it doesn’t have to be a popular one.

Make sure to stay within a fairly small “niche when picking a topic.” The term niche is used to describe a group of people who have a similar interest. There are big niches – like working at home – and small niches – like tips for training your cat to sit on the toilet. A happy medium between a popular topic and a niche interest will help your blog get plenty of readers. Some topics, like working at home or parenting, are too broad and have too much competition for readers.

You can use a free blogging platform like www to set up your blog.blogger.www or com.wordpress.com. There are also a half dozen others to choose from. Use the blogging platform to make your first entry into your blog, it will walk you through it.

It’s time to monetize your blog when you’ve made a few entries into your blog. This means you’ll be making specific changes to your blog in order to make money. Use Google Adsense or Chitika, contextual advertising programs, it is one of the most popular ways to gain income from a blog. Contextual advertising pays you for each time a reader clicks on one of the advertising links on your page. To place advertising on your page that relates to your page content, the advertising program will scan your blog entries for keywords.

For example, if you have a blog on children’s television and write an article about Sesame Street, the ads appearing next to that article will have to do with that program. They might be links to shopping for Sesame Street items, or an ad for vintage Sesame Street collectibles selling on ebay.

Using Google Adwords Keyword Selector Tool For Effective Ad Campaign

by Tricia

As you begin creating and writing compelling ads for your Google Adwords campaign, it’s important to know which keywords and keyphrases to use so that people can identify your ad with ease.

Google Adwords expert Perry Marshall encourages all Adwords users and pay-per-click managers to make full use of the Google Adwords Keyword Selector Tool when creating each ad. This free resource will allow users to uncover the best keywords in a niche, and may also assist in locating other related phrases for your campaigns, or in your keyword research. Google’s Keyword Tool is very helpful at focusing your efforts if your ads aren’t working; if your ad is only using low volume keywords, there’s a possibility that your Adwords ads won’t be clicked on enough to make your ad profitable.

Here are some additional methods for using Google’s Adwords Keyword Selector Tool to successfully create your Adwords campaign.

1. Start with a broad search. Most people use very specific keyword phrases when they first begin conducting research with Adwords, and this might be a mistake because it will typically leave you only with average results. Start with a broad search alternatively and dig into the results with the “synonyms” tool that provides variations and more suggestions as a part of the results.

2. Using a similar set of keywords, create different ad groups. Make sure you are creating an entirely new ad group for every campaign so you can keep track of what is working – and what isn’t. There is a ‘relevant keywords’ feature built right into the Adwords Keyword Selector Tool (that you can use) that will make it easier for you to narrow down your search.

3. Use ‘negative keywords’. Sometimes optimizing your Google Adwords campaign will involve taking away words that do not work for your market; the Google Adwords tool can be tweaked to stop showing certain words that may not be relevant to your particular niche. For example, if you are selling greeting cards but your basic search keeps showing results for ‘free greeting cards,’ you can eliminate the word ‘free’ by designating it as a negative keyword. The Google Adwords Keyword Selector Tool will now only show you results without the word ‘free.’

4. Use the Site Content feature if you don’t know where to start. Google can scan your web page and offer suggestions of keywords based on your site’s content. For example, if your home page provides information about services and trends in your marketplace, these may be strong keywords for your particular niche. After the search process, you will be given a list of targeted keywords related to these concepts and areas in the search results.

5. Location. There are many advertisers that don’t realize how important adding geographic modifiers to your search phrase (like a city or state) really is. This can be important if you provide products or services that are geographically specific; the visitors you get from these types of phrases might be better than a less specific search, and will provide more qualified traffic to your site. Consider adding keyword phrases with location modifiers to figure out what the combinations are for your specific ad campaign.

Marketing with Google Adwords is an effective technique that most online-businesses can use to attract more sales. Creating quality Google Ads is one of the most important skills to have when using Adwords – and there are many quality training resources available online.

Your Best Option Is Free Website Traffic

by Tricia

The internet is loaded with ways to generate free website traffic and the best methods are right at your fingertips! Some companies offer you -search engine optimization packages- or -traffic building services,- which can be good options for those who don’t have time to bother with traffic driving. However, if you’re looking to save money — and are willing to put in a little effort — there are plenty of ways to attract free website traffic to your site.

The people who generally opt out of using free website traffic are people who want many clicks on third-party ads. If that is your situation, and you are making most of your money from those clicks, it is a viable option. You have to weigh what you make with those clicks, versus what you are paying to get them. You also have to ask yourself if this is the kind of traffic promotion you want to do. Paying for traffic won’t necessarily garner fans for your site.

One of the biggest trends to attract more free website traffic is to develop a blog. What began as a personal journal shared with the virtual world has turned into a necessity for successful business websites. Some site owners hire writers to blog for them to keep content fresh and interesting. Use the blog to offer a small taste of what you have to offer on the rest of your site.

Another way to get free website traffic is to use search engine optimization. In order to do this, you’ll need some idea of how search engines work. You don’t have to be an expert — or hire one, either — if you don’t mind experimenting a little. Don’t let professional traffic promotion sites tell you otherwise. Don’t think of the internet is an ocean swimming with -search engine optimizing sharks- looking to gobble up all your hopes of more website traffic. Rather, it is a multi-layered ecosystem where different people, at different skill levels, can all thrive if they just learn how to get around. Of course, the option to hire someone is always open to you.

The most important thing to know about getting free website traffic is this: You need to have a good site. It needs to be focused, with easy-to use, relevant information that will provide something for the reader. All the traffic promotion in the world will be of little use if your site is sub-par. You may see some increased traffic temporarily — but if your site doesn’t do what it promises, then your success won’t last. There is no substitute for a good product.
