PHP training courses

by Tricia

If you have a career in web development you know that it’s important to keep up with the latest software and coding languages in order to provide and produce the most up to date web features for your clients.

Have you thought of taking courses to keep yourself up to date?

The Open Technology Group, ITG, offers PHP training, and they have several locations throughout the USA. Their PHP training courses are taught by Zend certified PHP MySQL instructors.

Their PHP training courses integrate PHP with MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL and other related databases. When I looked that the PHP courses listed I saw that they currently offer 6 different PHP courses that range from 3 to 5 days in length. The courses are competitively priced.

Companies interested in providing their employees with PHP training can request on site training if they so choose.

Learn more about OTG PHP courses by visiting their site.

Million dollar laptop?

by Tricia

Have you heard of the lap top by Luvaglio that’s priced at one million bucks?

luvagalio_1preview.jpg

This luxury laptop comes with a 17″ widescreen LED lit screen with integrated cleaning, solid state storage, slot loading blue ray drive, and a built in USB memory stick and mp3 player. What makes it so expensive?

Well it could be the rare diamond that also doubles as a power button and security ID tool when it’s placed into the laptop.

I don’t know. This doesn’t seem like it’s worth a million dollars. Sure it has some nice features and a fancy diamond … but is it really worth the price? What do you think?

The website to dos checklist

by Tricia

Starting a website, setting it up properly and ensuring that everything works as it should is something that many people, especially those new to creating websites fail to do properly. I would recommend that anyone who is about to start a new website or blog read the Website To Dos site.

The page that I linked to above is basically a checklist, with full descriptions written in an easy to understand style, of all of the most important things that one should do from start to finish when creating and maintaining a website.

The checklist begins with the initial creation of your site and gives helpful information about deciding on the goals and audience of your site. The checklist then moves on to talking about how to focus the topics of your web pages, and then goes on to give you tips on optimizing your site with search engines in mind.

The checklist ends with a list and detailed information about “Web server to dos” such as setting up 404 pages to assist your visitors when a page is not found or when the url is mistyped. There’s even tips on customizing a 404 page, plus information on redirecting pages or specific urls.

I think everyone should take a look at this checklist of website to dos. I know those new to creating websites will get a lot out of it, but seasoned webmasters might also pick up a few tips or get a reminder of things they should be doing, but often skip during the process of creating a new site.
