Too much work?

by Tricia

Would it be terrible of me to say I have too much work?

I started out with my first website in 1995 and believe it or not that website is still in existence. In fact it’s my most popular website.

Lately though I’ve gotten into writing blogs and as a result of having so many different blogs I’ve also managed to find ways to monetize them and earn a decent income off of them. I’m actually earning enough now that I can live off of it.

The trouble is most of my income comes in because I actually manually do the work. That is I write posts or write on blogs for compensation. Is it terrible to complain that I have too many offers?

Every day I have at least one email from someone asking me to try out their product or write about their site. It’s getting crazy! I’ve also had two offers to be a guest speaker at blogging or webmaster related seminars!

I think I might have to step back a bit and take a good look at what I’m doing and where I want it to take me so that I can plan my work schedule better and perhaps find a happy medium while I still continue to earn enough to live off of.

New Partnership program with Successful Office

by Tricia

If you have a small business that could benefit from a call center or answering service you should visit the Successful Office website and take a look at the various services that they offer.

Using a call center or answering service can give your business the appearance of having perhaps a larger office/business than you currently do, and of course, your clients will likely feel that they your company has great customer service if they can actually leave a message with a person rather than an answering machine when they call to make a purchase or ask a question about your business.

Successful Office also has an opportunity page for posters that proposes that small business may exchange their time for the services offered by Successful Office. As I understand it a blogger or a small business owner who is familiar with social bookmarking sites such as del.icious, digg, reddit, and stumbleupon can spend some time promoting the services of Successful Office in exchange for some of the benefits of their call answer service. Which means that if you need a call answer service but don’t really have the money to pay for such a service you can barter your own services in exchange for their services.

The opportunity page describes a few different ways to partner with Successful Office in order to either make money through their reseller program or to exchange services through their bartering program. Check it out.

Try monetizing your site with Adbrite

by Tricia

If you are looking for ways to monetize your site you might think about using Adbrite.

Adbrite works some what like Google Adsense in that you can place text or graphical advertising banners in a number of different places within your web page. You can set up your adbrite advertising areas so that it displays one or several text or graphical advertisements in a horizontal or vertical position.

Adbrite is not contextual, which means that you can use it along side Google Adsense advertising if you’d like.

When you set up your account with Adbrite you will set up “zones” for your website(s). You can set up your advertising so that you will only accept flat rate advertising – as in, an advertiser purchases an advertising space from you for a day, week, or month, or you can have a running rotation of ads that you either approve one at a time as requests come in, or allow Adbrite to approve the ads for you. The rotating ads will be text and or banner ads and they work through CPC, or pay per click as far as payment goes.

You can target the type of ads that you get by using keywords and site descriptions as well as your location.

You can also customize the coding for your advertising sections so that the ads blend well with your website. The Adbrite ads on this site are in the middle column towards the bottom.

Give it a try. I’ve been doing fairly well with Adbrite.
