The CD is 25 years old

by Tricia

Did you realize that the CD turned 25 on August 17th?

I didn’t realize that they’d been around that long, but then again it also feels like they’ve been around forever.

I remember when they first came out. It seemed like an alien idea and I’m sure that many people thought they wouldn’t last. Well they did. I just wonder if they’ll continue to be around now that iPods and other forms of portable multimedia players have become so popular.

The CD gave us higher quality sound. CD’s are smaller than records so they took up less space in our homes.

All we had to do was figure out what to do with our record players. Do you still have a record player? I do.

You mean we could have saved money at Coupon Chief?

by Tricia

I’ve been a fan of Coupon Chief for quite a while now. I find myself browsing the site for coupon codes that I can use to purchase anything from home decor items, clothing to computer related supplies.

Coupon Chief actually has over 1000 different stores listed on their site – most of which are stores that are well known around the world. You can start your online shopping at the Coupon Chief website by finding a discount coupon code and then going on to shop at that store.

My husband and I recently made some major purchases. He got a Digital Video Camera and I got a digital SLR Camera. For some reason I didn’t think of Coupon Chief on the day that we went shopping for these items. If I had we could have used a Circuit City coupon and perhaps have taken $100 off for both the digital camera and the video camera since they currently have coupons for both items!

Excuse me while I have a bang my head on the table moment.

We actually purchased both of our new toys at Best Buy. Looking at the Coupon Chief site right now I see that there is a Best Buy coupon for 15% off select audio and video accessories as well as coupons for 55 to 12% off select digital cameras. Perhaps we could have got a deal on the various accessories we purchased for our cameras such as the memory cards and cases?

I’m not even going to check it out any further because I’ll just get depressed if I find out I could have saved a ton of money on the actual models that we purchased.

Well … hopefully you can learn a lesson from my possible mistake. Check Coupon Chief first before you go out to a retail store. You might just get a better deal online!

Cyberbullying increasing

by Tricia

The following news story states that there’s been a noted increase in cyberbullying for those that spend a lot of time online.

One in three teenagers have reported that they are victims of cyberbullying. This isn’t unexpected. There’s always been bullying in school and cyberbullying has been going on for a while now, but it appears to be increasing. I suppose it’s another way to continue carrying out attacks on kids that would unfortunately normally end up getting picked on in school.

The terrible thing about this is that the teenager has no refuge from the bullying. It goes on at school and it goes on at home if they are on the computer.
