We’ve got to get a new TV

I think it’s about time that my husband and I start looking for a new television set. We have a fairly nice Samsung DLP that we bought in 2004, but the light bulb has burned out twice now and the price of a new DLP light is NOT going down.

Also, when the TV’s on it hums. A high pitched hum that just drives me nuts. I’m sure it’s coming from the fan that’s on the light light bulb mount. I haven’t found much information about others complaining of this problem but I hate it. So it’s time to get a new TV.

Oh don’t worry. The DLP was very very expensive. We won’t be throwing it away. We’ll use it in the basement rec room, but it will no longer be the main TV for our household. Actually if we don’t use it as often we won’t have to replace that darn expensive light bulb as often.

The bulb costs over $400! We’ve replaced it twice. If we didn’t want an HDTV I suppose we could have bought another set just with what we’ve paid for those two light bulbs. Crazy huh.

So I’ve been looking at TV review sites. I found a nice one that has lcd tv reviews. It seems to have articles about all the main models and since we’re now thinking of an LCD or Plasma TV it’s a good place to start.

Do you know of any other television set sites that I should take a look at?

The New DocuPen Pen Scanner

Pen scanners have been around for a while, but there’s a new one on the market that’s a true technological advancement.

Planon’s latest pen scanner is called the DocuPen. It’s both a scanner and high tech pen at once. It’s battery operated for full portability and it can store up to 100 pages in it’s memory scanning each in four to eight seconds.

Many of the previous pen scanners were slower and did not have the ability to scan graphics. The DocuPen does it all.

The current price of this high tech gadget is $270. The DocuPen has a USB interface, scans at a max of 200 x 200, weighs 2 oz, has an 8 MB flash memory, and works with Windows 98, ME, 2000 and XP.

All you need to do is place the DocuPen on a piece of paper parallel to the text and move the pen downward over the page. When you want to see what you’ve scanned just connect the pen scanner to a computer using the USB interface.

I could see sales people and those who are frequently out of the office at meetings finding this new DocuPen quite handy.

GoGoGoShopper has coupons for Network Solutions

I didn’t realize this, but the site GoGoShopper.com offers coupons for several different web based companies. By this I mean you can find NetworkSolutions coupons which would allow you to get 10% off the price of registering a domain name of starting up a web hosting account. There’s also a coupon for 15% off any SSL certificate/seal sale.

Not bad.

Along with coupons,deals and coupon codes for such items as clothing, electronics, food, music, toys and games and more you’ll find coupons for GoDaddy, Register.com HostRocket, Aplus.net and other web hosting, and domain registering types of sites.

I’m thinking of getting a second web host since I’ve been having web hosting problems so I might look into these coupons. Why not save some money if you can?
