There are many horror stories about affiliate programs and networks. I’m sure you’ve probably heard a few horror stories and might be leery of joining some affiliate programs. For the most part, the stories that you might have heard are likely related to illegal programs or pyramid schemes.

Basically, this kind of market does not have real, worthy product. What you really want to do is find the best affiliate programs to promote and or join one of the Top Affiliate Training Program so that you can learn how to succeed at affiliate marketing.

You do not want to be associated with schemes or scammy programs. It is obvious you want to be with a program that offers high quality product that you would be willing to readily endorse.  There are decent, quality affiliate programs out there, you just have to do a little work to find ones that pay well and that work with your site or your interests/ passions.

Why participate in an affiliate program?

Affiliate programs that pay well can eventually allow you to work part-time. Affiliate programs give you the opportunity to build a generous residual income, and of course, it makes you an owner of a small business. Affiliate programs have already created lots of millionaires. They are the living testimony of how hard work; continuous prospecting, motivating and training others pay off. How do you choose a good affiliate program to promote? Here are some tips you may want to look over before choosing one:

1. A program that you like and have interest in. One of the best ways of knowing if that is the kind of program you wish to promote is if you are interested in purchasing the product yourself. If that is the case, chances are, there are many others who are also interested in the same program and products.

2. Look for a program that is of high quality. For instance, look for one that is associated with many experts in that particular industry. This way, you are assured that of the standard of the program you are considering joining.

3. Join in the ones that offer real and viable products. How do you know this? Do some initial research. If possible, track down some of the members and customers to give you testimonial on the credibility of the program. Do Google searches to read success stories or complaints about the products or the company that sells it.

4. Check to see that the program that is catering to a growing target market. This will ensure that there will be continuous demands for your referrals. Make inquiries.  You need to find a top affiliate training program.  There are forums and discussions you can participate in to get reliable feedback.

5. A program with a compensation plan that pays out a residual income and a payout of 30% or more would be a great choice. There are some programs offering this kind of compensation. Look closely for one. Do not waste your time with programs that do not reward substantially for your efforts.

6. Be aware of the minimum quotas that you must fulfill or sales target that is too hard to achieve. Some affiliate programs imposes prerequisites before you get your commissions. Just be sure that you are capable of attaining these requirements.

7. Select one that has plenty of tools and resources that can help you grow the business in the shortest possible time. Not all affiliate programs have these capacities. Make use you decide on one with lots of helpful tools that you can use.

8. Check out if the program has a stats system that will allow you to check your networks and compensation.

9. Find a program that offers strong incentives. Affiliate programs that provide continuous help and upgrades for its products have the tendency to retain its members.

10. Be aware of the things that members are not happy about in a program.

Have a thorough and intensive knowledge about the affiliate program and or network that you will be promoting.

Barracuda Networks signs license agreement with OIN

On October 2nd Barracuda Networks announced that it had signed a license agreement with Open Invention Networks. Open Invention Networks (OIN) launched in 2005 as an intellectual property company that specializes in acquiring patents and ensuring their availability in order to further the Linux System.

Several companies have now become licensees of OIN in order to help ensure that Linux-Based and open source intellectual properties get the protection they deserve.

It’s important that developers of Linux-based programs and open source intellectual properties work in a legally protected environment and partnerships such as the one being created between Barracuda networks and Open Invention Networks will go a long way towards ensure that new Linux based software continues to be created and that businesses will continue to invest in Linux and Open Source.

Barracuda Networks has been an active member in the open source and free software communities. They’ve also combined their own technology with various open source programs in order to provide easy to use security applications such as their Enterprise Class Spam Filter, Spam Firewall, web filters and load balancers.
